Long Term Backhaul Is Here
Our new back-haul equipment has been installed and configured. With the exception of a few localized issues to approximately ten customers, everything is functioning properly.

Our new traffic shaping has worked very well but is more restrictive to bit-torrent and p2p. We are sorry if it has caused inconvenience, but leaving it wide open was no longer an option as some customers would adversely effect there neigbours. Traffic shaping is now set that voip & video conferencing have guaranteed bandwidth, gaming is optimized, browsing, VPN are set before download, then lastly p2p.

YouTube playback still may have buffering issues until we can successfully integrate video caching. We have been working on deploying this service without effecting web performance and do have some promising results. Once we establish a video cache proxy, it will, for the most part allow playback buffer free.

Please remember that our rate changes are designed to fairly distribute the cost of bandwidth and reduce overage charges. We have been actively seeking ways to reduce the cost of bandwidth to ourselves and then pass on the savings to you the customer. Remembering that we do not have the utility infrastructure of a major city, we maintain very competitive rates and services
Sun Fade

The sun can cause interference for a brief period, at dawn or dusk this time of year.

It's looking like the dog days of summer might be the only ones we get. With thunderstorms almost every evening and warm temperatures during the day, it seems like an endless humid spring that you have to take everything from beach-wear to rain gear with you at all times.
Netflix... can I use it?
Can you use Netflix? This has a yes and no answer. Even though for a moderate fee, they offer unlimited access to there libraries, most services and pretty much all rural services, have bandwidth limits. You can quickly exceed these limits by streaming HD media, and although it does not have the adverse effects that p2p and bit-torrent programs, it is a download.

If you wish to use Netflix, go ahead just remember, your usage is your responsibility. We strongly suggest you use a bandwidth monitoring tool on each of your connected devices.
